Home Remod Progress: Livingroom

We are in the process of re-revamping lots of rooms in our house we bought in May. We spent all this time getting it ready before we moved in; painting, cleaning, repairing, etc just to have to do it - it seems- all over again. We were lazy and put only one coat of paint on, we have yet to finish painting the kitchen cabinets, and don't get me started on our 1000 other projects. It is hard to get things done when we have 3 kids under 5, Morgan can only do stuff after work and I have a limited capacity when it comes to certain jobs. But enough of my yammering. Ok, so the pic above is how the room looked once we painted it - the color is actually a green/olive/gray color...and not as dark as it looks. The trim is wood but I hate the orange-y color of it so we painted it white - ahh...that's better. Not so dark and dungeonous.

We needed to add floor trim because we have none and the wall is gross and looks like this:

I can't wait to have this room done - then move to the next one. Our problem is a lack of FOCUS; we'd start like 3 projects at once and the progress on that is like watching yourself grow old. So now we are focused and kickin' A!

Me @ Chicago Craft Social!

I can not wait for Craft Social this Friday! I will be there dually representing myself @Crankheartpony and my place of employment-The Riverside Arts Center- who is sponsoring the project. I will be doing some fun wire wrapped nest jewelry. I can't help but to be very excited about the food. I'm like Liz lemon - it's ridiculous. So while peeps are busy making the project, I'll be consistently heading over to the food pile to hoss-out.

Free Desktop Wallpapers

Its true that if you are on the computer a lot, its good to dress it up a bit. I mean - if you take your wife on a date, you'd want her to look top notch, right? I don't know how I related those 2 things. Must be my lack of sleep. Anyway, Over at the Herman Miller,Inc. website they have a nice little jumble of free wallpapers from Marimekko to Lego themed. Go check it out and doll up your desktop.

How To: Cake Pops with Bakerella

Image used  from Bakerella.com
I love sweets. They may be my downfall one day, I'm sure my own blood has been replaced with cake batter. Anyway, I've seen these really cute cake pops that people make. They look adorable and delicious and I always wondered how they are made. I love the Bakerella blog for all its sweet wisdom and came across her Video How-To for her upcoming book:
Cake Pops: Tips, Tricks, and Recipes for More Than 40 Irresistible Mini Treat.

And with a price like that how could I NOT get it?! Just look at these....

OH, And I am doing my Craft Every Day Challenge - I need to post the pics. I've revamped a shelf, a wallet, and repurposed some other goods. Stay Tuned!
