But favorite book.... hmmm... for the past few years, I've only been reading non-fiction... I used to love Atlas Shrugged, when I was young and full of myself. Now that I've aged a bit, I find it a bit naive and black-n-white.

One I read recently that spoke to me was Who Stole the American Dream? by Hedrick Smith - talks about the economic collapse, it's origins... very thought provoking.

  141. The Lotus Eaters by Tatjana Soli. It is the story of "the first" female photojournalist in Vietnam during the Vietnam war - it is a historical fiction, but the main character's turblent love affairs with two very different men and the war torn country of Vietnam itself provided me with significant insight to my father's own experiences in Siagon in 1967-1968. It is an amazingly wonderful book, that at times can be tough to read, but I am STILL thinking about it 6 months later!

    ReplyDelete
