Photo Fun!

Somehow, on a city street, this was found..so bizzare. Just kidding! Its of Maddy when we were in Africa. Go to http://www.photofunia.com/ and you can upload any pic in several scenes - this one looked fun to me. Its a fun way to fool those who are not very tech savvy - like parents for instance. I think Im going to try convincing mine that this was really posted around some random street in a far away place...like - oh, lets say Denmark.

Making it Official

I stumbled upon the Buraeu of Communication to send notices to friends and enemies alike! Go to http://www.bureauofcommunication.com/ and pick the official notice that fits your needs. If you've ever had a conflict with an adversary that you some how have to deal with more frequently than you like, send them a "formal apology" to smooth things over. If theres a certain someone you fancy and would like to 'officially' notify them of your feelings, send them a "Declaration of Romantic Intent'...thats sure to get hearts all a-flutter!

Ah, Babies!

Just when you think your baby is sleeping so peacefully....

Last night Lucy really needed a diaper change. She was sleeping but I decided to change her anyway - she sleeps 18 hours of the day so I doubt im intruding on her beauty rest with a 3 minute diaper change. Now, breast-fed newborns have very runny poop -gross, I know! Not very smelly, but it sounds quite 'explosive' everytime it happens. So i get her from the other room and put her on the couch to change her. As soon as I get her all cleaned up, I reach for the new diaper when (insert explosive diarrhea sound here)! Baby poop shot literally 6 feet. All over the couch. ugh... So next time you see a sleeping baby, remember what they are capable of.

The body works mysteriously...

When I first became pregnant with Lucy, I had a crippling type of arthritis..or well Erythema Nodosum to be exact. I thought I would be crippled forever, it made me sad to think of being a young mom with such an 'old' body that couldnt even take the kids for a simple walk. Depressing! I didnt find out what the problem was til I was a good 2 months into it, luckily I was done by month 3. I saw 5 doctors give or take and I was the one to correctly diagnose myself ...which was later verified by my rheumatologist. Now, 6 months later, Lucy is here and uh-oh...Im starting to feel a bit of pain and stiffness in my joints again. Ugh.............. Whats weird is that the first time it happened to sets of joints simultaneously; both ankles, then both knees, elbows, etc. This time its sporadic. one finger is pretty stiff, one elbow hurts, a knee gets annoying. Now, it could be the raging hormones - which probably triggered it in the 1st place, but who knows. If 5 doctors cant tell me, who on earth can? What scares me, besides being immobile forever, is not being able to play with my kids or do anything fun outside, i cant craft or make art, i cant drive, nothing! Lets hope it goes away for good and doesnt develop any further!!!

Now with 2 of them!

I thought having 2 kids would be crazy, demanding, tiresome, and overall overwhelming. So far I've been let down - which is great. Lucy sleeps and sleeps...she's so easy to deal with. Maddy is a good girl who can entertain herself by reading, playing, or watching Pee Wee Herman shows/movies. She also loves helping me with Lucy. One thing is that Morgan has been and will be home for the next 2-3 weeks or so, so when he returns to work, I may be singing a different tune. I sure hope not tho! This time around, recovery has been a breeze. #1 was a c-section (as was #2 - and neither was by choice, believe me!) but recoveryof #1 took a really loooooong time. Like weeks before I could even sit up in a chair on my own. This time, I was able to do that in a few days after surgery. In the hospital nurses would come in and ask "so, do you need something for pain?" When I'd say no, they looked so puzzled, like I was lying or having residual epidural side effects. I had some pain, yes, but no where near what I anticipated. The most pain was the numbing drug they injected before the epidural. But it was all worth it to have that sweet little girl to hold in my arms after waiting a grueling 9 months.
